- Represented nurses in disciplinary proceedings and peer review proceedings.
- Represented sellers and purchasers with respect to medical practice acquisition and practice sales.
- Represented imaging facilities, ambulatory surgery centers, etc. with respect to ongoing operations.
- Represented numerous clients regarding the structuring of healthcare joint ventures and contractual relationships in compliance with federal and state laws governing referral relationships, including illegal remuneration, Stark, and civil money penalties.
- Represented numerous healthcare providers with respect to requirements of the federal Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (“HIPAA”).
- Assisted in developing employee handbooks for dentists and home health agencies.
- Represented the owners of medical office buildings regarding compliance with Stark and fraud and abuse regulations.
- Represented a large, public mental health facility with respect to ongoing operations.
- Represented a purchaser in the simultaneous purchase of three acute hospitals in a large metropolitan area in Texas.
