EL PASO, TX – Rosemary Marin, an El Paso attorney who is a shareholder of the ScottHulse law firm and member of the firm’s board of directors, presented at the National Border Law Conference on the topic “Cross Border Labor and Employment Issues”.
Sponsored by the El Paso Chapter of the Federal Bar Association, the conference was held January 29–31 at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP). Speakers included representatives from the Department of Justice, United States and Mexican consular officials, federal judges from the border districts, and nationally-recognized legal experts from the United States and Mexico.
“The National Border Law Conference is an exceptional forum that addresses the unique issues related to the practice of law on the U.S./Mexico border,” said Ms. Marin, who heads the ScottHulse labor and employment section and is Board Certified in Labor & Employment Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. “I was honored to share our firm’s knowledge of the challenges faced by employers in the border region, particularly those with employees on either or both sides of the Texas and Mexico border.”
“With offices in both Texas and New Mexico, and our Mexico Law practice group, which provides licensed representation in Mexico, we have unparalleled knowledge of and experience in the Borderplex, which has allowed us to navigate the complexities of cross border employment issues for local, regional, national and global employers,” added Ms. Marin. “The National Border Law Conference was an opportunity for lawyers who work in both the public and private sectors to benefit and learn from our many years of trial experience and advocacy on behalf of employers.”
Ms. Marin and her team defend employers of all sizes in employment litigation; administrative and regulatory issues; and labor union matters, and provide legal and practical advice on implementing proactive strategies that focus on prevention. She is also a highly experienced trial lawyer who has a win rate of 100 percent on employment trials in which she was the first-chair lawyer.
